Ahead of the Spring Festival, growing demand from Southeast Asia has driven a sharp increase in citrus exports from Yichang. On January 27, Yichang Yilinghong Ecological Agriculture Development Co Ltd shipped 50 metric tons of Zigui navel oranges to markets including Thailand and Malaysia.
To ensure the freshness of exported citrus, Yichang Customs has streamlined inspection procedures and expanded the use of remote video inspections, significantly shortening the time needed for inspection and certification and facilitating smoother clearance of agricultural products. According to Yichang Customs, both the volume and value of Yichang’s citrus exports reached record highs in 2025, with total shipments of 194,000 metric tons valued at 1.09 billion yuan, representing year-on-year growth of 14% and 7%, respectively.
