Juanqiao River Wetland Park

This year’s “World Wetlands Day,” observed on February 2, carries the theme “Wetlands and Traditional Knowledge.” As a key ecological region in western Hubei, Yichang is endowed with rich wetland resources, covering a total area of 82,400 hectares. It is home to eight national wetland parks, including the Tianlongwan Wetland Park in Yidu County, the Qinglong Lake Wetland Park in Dangyang and the Ju River Wetland Park in Yuan’an. Among these, Yuan’an’s Ju River is designated as a national key wetland, while Dangyang’s Qinglong Lake and the Qingjiang River in Changyang County are recognized as provincial key wetlands. In the urban areas, wetland parks such as the Yunhe Park, the Bailin River and the Juanqiao River have become “ecological parlors” for Yichang people to enjoy nature.
