On March 9, the 2nd-phase project of the Maoping Operation District at Zigui Port in Yichang handled its first batch of foreign trade cargo transshipment of 2026. The operation involved unloading and transferring about 1,000 metric tons of chemical fertilizer materials at Berths 3 to 5, marking the smooth start of foreign trade services at the facility following its resumption.
After being handled at Zigui Port, the cargo was transported by road to downstream ports for sale in international markets. This established a stable and cost-effective waterway express route for agricultural supplies from the Three Gorges reservoir area, effectively reducing logistics costs for businesses and playing an important role in ensuring a smooth supply chain for agricultural materials.
