At Zigui Port, the green shore power continuously supplies clean energy to docked cruise ships.
As of April 2025, the port shore power facilities in Yichang, which commenced operation in 2019, have supplied 64.6 million kilowatt-hours of green electricity to 62,304 vessels. This is equivalent to replacing 15,000 metric tons of diesel, reducing harmful gas emissions by 48,000 metric tons, and saving vessel operators over 80 million yuan in energy costs. The port has installed 179 shore power units across 71 wharves and has pioneered six safe power supply models, supporting the implementation of the initiative of “Electrifying the Yangtze River.” (Sanxia Daily: Reporters/Ma Lin and Tan Yangchenlei, Correspondent/Li Zhifei)
