At 8:04 am on July 1, G3922, the first direct high-speed train from Yichang to Xi’an, departed from Yichangbei Railway Station and arrived at Xi’andong Railway Station in just 3 hours and 46 minutes, about 3 hours shorter than the previous route via Wuhan and Zhengzhou. The Xi’an-Shiyan High-Speed Railway, which opened on June 30, spans 257 kilometers with a design speed of 350 km/h. The route avoids the detour between Yichang and Xi’an that was previously required, shortening the journey by over 600 km. At 2:06 pm the same day, G3844 from Xi’anbei Railway Station arrived at Yichangbei.
