Yichang-produced lab-grown diamonds are attracting buyers from around the world.

　　Recently, Yichang-based Zhongjing Diamond Co Ltd completed a special commemorative diamond order, custom-made from a client’s preserved baby hair, and simultaneously delivered lab-grown diamond jewelry.

　　Since the state-owned enterprise settled in Yiling District in 2018, the company has continuously achieved technological breakthroughs, raising its product success rate from 60% to over 98% and realized complete localization of raw material sourcing. In 2024, it invested more than 4 million yuan in research and development, breaking through the bottleneck of mass production of colored diamonds in blue, yellow, pink and other hues. In the first half of this year, it produced approximately 300,000 carats of lab-grown diamonds, with over 80% of its products exported to countries and regions including India, South Korea, Europe and the United States. Since 2025, the company’s commemorative diamond customization service has attracted clients from Vietnam, South Korea and other countries.

　　In 2026, the company’s proprietary brand “YIKELA” officially launched, with its online store simultaneously launched on JD.com. The product range covers everyday affordable luxury, bridal customization, and personalized colored diamonds.
