On July 20, the comprehensive inspection train on the Yichang-Xingshan High-Speed Railway hit the targeted test speed of 385 km/h, marking the successful completion of the line’s speed testing phase.

The Yichang-Xingshan High-Speed Railway is 108.38 kilometers in total length, with a design speed of 350 km/h. It begins at Yichangdong Railway Station and ends at Xingshan Railway Station, where it interconnects with the Zhengzhou-Chongqing High-Speed Railway. The speed test was carried out on the Yangjiabang-Xingshan section. The Yichangbei-Yangjiabang section had already opened to traffic on December 26 last year, along with the Wuhan-Yichang section of the Shanghai-Chongqing-ChengduHigh-Speed Railway. Upon full operationof the whole line, travel time from Xingshan to Yichang will be cut from two hours to around 20 minutes, and the journey from Yichang to Chongqing is expected to be reduced to about three hours. At Xingshan, the Shanghai-Chongqing High-Speed Railway and Zhengzhou-Chongqing High-Speed Railway will form an interconnected hub.
