Recently, the “increasing face score” of “Yichang Blue” prevailed in Yichang online “circle of friends”.
The “ Yichang Blue” does not appear by accident. This good result is largely due to the city\'s great efforts to the control of the air pollution source.
Later this year, the City Management Committee has taken a variety of measures to improve air quality, including releasing the dust control information timely, improving the urban site dynamic records, solving the outstanding problems, strengthening the supervision of sediment transport and pushing forward the dust pollution prevention and control.
The reporter learned that the daily administration routine of sediment transport and construction site delays from 24:00 to 3:00 in the morning. Illegal activities such as untidy vehicles, carrying mud to the roads, over speeding and overload and spilling along the roads would be strictly punished. As for Bayi Road, Wuling Road, Berlin Road, Juchen Road, Shenbai Road, Zhenzhi Road, and Dongjun Road, we conduct 14 times watering within a day in three shifts. The watering work starts from 6:00 am to 3:00 the next morning, taking an all-covered dust decreasing mode to completely reduce road dust. In Dianjun District, the sediment vehicles with leak and spill have been carefully regulated.

In recent days, Yiling District demolished the large steel advertisements in Hongqiaolanan residential areas, on Development Avenue. Xiling District pulled down the large outdoor advertisements in Qingjiang Building Revetment, on Dongshan Avenue and the upper section on Xiling Second Road. Wujiagang District banned the large LED screen which was scrambling to construct by the Telecom City on Longkang Road. Besides, Wujiagang District tore down some advertisements on the wall of many shops as well as some “Knife flag” advertisements on the light poles along the street. Xiaoting District pulled down the advertisements on the traffic guardrail on Xiaoting Avenue....Every district in Yichang City has conducted an intensive rectification on the cloth advertisements, scrolls, banner advertisements, LED screens, bus stop boards and the phenomena of many advertising boards hung outside one shop on the primary and secondary roads within its jurisdiction. Finally 456 advertising sites as well as 1690 square meters advertisements have been demolished.
Trash Bin “wearing new clothes”
It seems like a public service advertisement (PSA) box from far away. While if you take a closer look at it, you will find that it is a trash bin.
The brand new trash bins attracted the reporter’s eyes when he was near Wanda Plaza, on Yiling Road. These trash bins are about two meters high. Some public service advertisements on food safety, stressing civility and fostering new practice are printed on their front sides. And all of these trash bins have two boxes, one is used for the recyclable trash and the other is for non-recyclable trash. Moreover, these trash bins are also equipped with ash cylinders on their left or right sides. And they all have completed functions and each functional area has detailed labeling. According to the sanitation workers, many smokers used to toss their butts directly into the trash bins, so that it was easy to light the garbage or leaves in it. But now the trash bins have special inlets for butts. It is reasonable to separate the butts from other garbage. In order to make things convenient for people, the space between two trash bins is also set within 50 meters, which is in accordance with the “Urban Environmental Sanitation Facilities Setting Standards”.
Recently, the Urban Management Bureau of Wujiagang District has put the second batch of PSAs trash bins on Yiling Road, Gangyao Road and Shengli Forth Road. 265 classified dustbins have been properly installed. At the next stage Yichang City will promote PSAs style dustbins on primary and secondary roads and devote greater effort to the update of these containers for garbage.
