The 6th International Dragon Boat Rafting Competition was held on June 17, 2017 in Chaotianhou, Xingshan of Yichang, attracting over 2,000 competitors from 40 countries and regions to race against the waves.

　　The race includes professional groups and amateur groups. 5 International professional teams from Australia, Hungary, Sweden, Serbia and Russia competed with 13 Chinese professional teams for the 6-km race. As a result, the three teams from Chongqing, Heyuan of Guangdong and Xinyue of Jiangxi were among the top three. Local people Dong Ziqiang/Yangping, Xie Hezhong/Fanghu and Shen Hongfei/Shentianqi won the top three in the 6-km amateur race, leading more than 1,000 amateur competitors.

　　After the establishment in last May, Yichang Dragon Boat and River Rafting Association combined dragon boating and river rafting together and created dragon-shaped rubber boat for two persons. Based on the new race, the association was honored the “Promotion and Contribution Award” by the Chinese Dragon Boat Association. The Chaotianhou rafting runs six kilometers with the river drop of 148 meters. So far, the investment in the fixed assets of Chaotianhou scenic spot has amounted to 300 million RMB, with the annual visitor number being the top of the same industry for years in Hubei province.
