Wang Zhaojun (approx. 52BC-15BC), born in Xingshan County, was one of the four ancient beauties of China as well as the cultural ambassador of the Han Nationality to the ethical group Xiongnu. On Jun. 20th, the people from all walks of life in Hubei, who are interested in the Zhaojun Culture, have embarked on a special train to the Inner Mongolia, the past frontier where Zhaojun lived after she married the emperor of Xiongnu in exchange for friendship between two nationalities. They have brought along the water and soil collected from the hometown of Wang. At that day, Xingshan County held a grand launching ceremony on which the local leaders took the water and soil from the Xiangxi River and gave them to the head of the participants who joined the activity. Then, experts, scholars and visitors studying on or interested in the Zhaojun Culture took the water and soil of Xiangxi at different times and set off from Xingshan to the destination of Zhaojun——the?Hohhot?City, the capital of the Inner?Mongolia?Autonomous?Region. The activity has attracted nearly one thousand people to travel through Hubei Province, Henan Province, Shaanxi Province and the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region for eight days.
