On December 12th, the opening ceremony of the 12th Ponkan Culture Tourism Festival was held in Yuxiakou town, Changyang Tujia Ethnic Autonomous County. With the convening of the ceremony, Qingjiang Ponkan started picking at orchards officially.

　　This year, the Qingjiang Ponkan welcomes another harvest year. According to agricultural authorities, Qingjiang Ponkan Planting Base in Changyang, with an area of 20592 acres and an annual output of 105,000 tons, produces more than 300 million yuan. With 8 towns’ planting area reaching 3953.7 acres, the Qingjiang Ponkan industry has become the leading industry for local farmers to get out of poverty. The fruit sells well in Russia, Malaysia and other countries.

　　From this month, Qingjiang Ponkan of Changyang has been in the medium sales period. More than 100 enterprises have come to Yuxiakou town. On 12th alone, more than 20 contracts of over 15 million kilograms’ Ponkan were signed at the event.
