On May 28, having poured the last patch of concrete smoothly, the northern main tower top of Baiyang Yangtze River Highway Bridge in Hubei was completed. It indicates that the construction of this bridge’s lower structure is transferred to the construction of its upper structure. The entire project is expected to be completed in November 2020.
It is a suspension bridge with a main span of 1000 meters and a single span in the length of a steel truss girder. This super-large bridge, with a 33.5 meter-wide deck, is designed as a six-lane expressway in both directions. Connecting Baiyang Town in Zhijiang City in the north and Lucheng Street in Yidu City in the south, it is the controlling project of the expressway from Yichang to Zhangjiajie in Hubei and an important part of the expressway from Yun County to Wufeng, which belongs to “six longitudinal lines” of “753” main road network in Hubei.
