On December 17, the citizens enjoyed the scenery of the corridor alongside the Huangbaihe River in Yiling District. After one year since the implementation of the Regulations on the Protection of the Huangbaihe River Basin in Yichang City, the quality of the water environment has improved significantly.From January to November, the water quality of the whole river basin was up to the standard rate of 77.89%, which was 6.24 percentage higher than that of 2017. A four-level river chief system responsibility system has been established,followed by the promulgation of the Ecological Compensation Scheme for the Eastern Branch of the HuangbaiheRiver. The municipal government has allocated 10 million yuan compensation funds each year, and Yiling and Yuan'an counties have paid 7 million yuan and 3 million yuan in deposits each year to compensate those who have reached the water quality standards.
