On April 17, the reporter came to the construction site of the Second-Phase Renovation and Extension Project of Sanxia Airport located in Xiaoting district. Airfield construction began on March 26, 2018 and 95% of construction work was finished last year. This year, the focuses will beon the construction of Terminal T2 and surrounding facilities, thefirepump houseand runway extension. It is predicted that industry acceptance will be finished in December and theseprojects willbe put into useaccordingly.
Dozens of muck trucks and bulldozers are workingagainst timeon the uneven construction site of Terminal T2 projectcovering an area of 15,000 square meters, which symbolizes theofficial launch of the Terminal T2 project.
According to Gao Huibing,project manager of China Construction First Group Corporation Limited, "Terminal T2 will be built side by sidewith T1, the terminal square and parking lot will be on the left side andtheparking apronwill bebuilt on the right side to connectwith Terminal T1. So far, we have enough earth work, but the massive earth and stone work will not begin until the pipelinerelocationof Terminal T1 isfinished. Given the need to shorten the construction time, the earth and stone work in front of the terminal will be moved to lower places.The piling machine willbegin to work this month."
China Construction First Group Co, Ltd is now revising its scheme to ensurethe normal operation of SanxiaAirport while relocatingthe pipelinesof Terminal T1.Lateron, based on projectprogress, more workers will be added to speed up the construction, thus minimizing the impact of COVID-19 outbreak on the time limit for the project and finishing the projecton time.
On theconstruction site of runway extension, construction vehicles were placed in order, but there were no workers. Upon seeing the surprised look of the reporter, Zhou Weijun, site director from China Railway12th Bureau Group-the constructorof the project,introduced that over 20 construction vehicles and 80 workers are busymakingup for the delay caused by the epidemic at night. And constructionworkissuspended when the flights are in operation since6:00 a.m.
Runway extension project aims to extend the runways from 2,600 meters to 3,200 meters. Based on the principle of "the employer takes responsibility for management", all units should strictly implement various prevention and control measures topreventcluster transmissionandqualityandsafetyaccidents.
By April 17, 22 administrative staff and 187from the constructor have been on duty on the construction site. Construction work is pushing ahead in order.
