Which is the most gorgeous flower in fall? The chrysanthemum takes the lead. The News Briefing of the 35th Yichang Chrysanthemum Exhibition kicked off on Oct. 15, announcing that the free Chrysanthemum exhibition will be held in Jiangnan URD of Dianjun district from Oct. 23 to Nov. 16.
This year’s chrysanthemum exhibitionis themed with “chrysanthemum in full blossom, our ecological city with new charm”to illustrate Yichang’s remarkable achievements on gardening. What are the highlights of this year’s exhibition? Let’s have a quick look!
More interesting chrysanthemum appreciation at night
This is Yichang’s first attempt to encourage night appreciation of chrysanthemum, showing the beauty of Yichang in the moonlight. The shape designs are combined with light elements to improve effect. Apart from the visual sight of chrysanthemum in full bloom, there are also sound displays, including flowing water, musical stairs, broadcasting sketches and so on, making the exhibition more colorful and vivid.
Citizens can participate at night in music festivals with a different style every week: chinoiserie, rock and electronics. Laser show performances and internet celebrity food are there for citizens to enjoy.
The chrysanthemum exhibitionin hazy light of the light show and in the melody of the open air music festival will certainly bring unique experience.
Chrysanthemum appreciation with view and ideas integrated
Compared with the previous exhibitions, this year’s exhibition is more diversified to show the characteristic achievements on gardening: 16 large-scale group chrysanthemums with an area of 47,000 square meters, over 200 works of chrysanthemum handicrafts, over 350 potted exquisite chrysanthemums and more than 200,000 potted chrysanthemums. The view route stretches out as long as 1,200 meters.
Elements of combating COVID-19 and leading a healthy life are added. With the help of photo frames, phonographs, display panels of figures and other instruments, images of medical workers who have been brave to run up against headwinds during the pandemic and the chrysanthemum landscapes and shapes are organically integrated.
The ideas of ecological and environmental protection and energy conservation are highlighted. Used mud altars, farm tools, bricks and tiles, water pipes, tires and other materials are recycled for decoration and the making of small items. Wastes are successfully transformed into artistic handicrafts, adding more fun to the chrysanthemum exhibition.
The chrysanthemum exhibition is integrated with home gardening. Small-scale comfortable courtyards and garden balconiesare created, so that everyone can feel the beauty of family gardening and fall in love with a life with gardening. At the same time,gardening enthusiasts can have access to a wide range ofcomprehensive services, including sales of gardening products.
The exhibited chrysanthemums are more diversified compared with the previous years. In addition to the common types of chrysanthemum, 25 fine chrysanthemum varieties also make their debut this time.

Temporary chartered buses
The Public Transportation Group putstwo chartered busesinto operation. The buses start from URD, and pass Jiangcheng Avenue, Zhixi Yangtze River Bridge, Yanjiang Avenue, No.1 Xiling Road, Yiling Square, Dongshan Avenue, Zhixi Yangtze River Bridge, Dianjun Avenue, Jiangnan Avenue and arrive at URD. Along the way, the chartered buses stop at URD, Yihua, Modern City Plaza, the Second Hospital, North Gate of Children's Park, Yiling Square (Platform No.7), URD and other stations. The departure interval is 30 minutes. The departure time from Yiling Squareis8:30a.m.－16:30p.m. and thatof URD Chrysanthemum Exhibition Hallis 9:00a.m.－17:00p.m. In order to alleviate the traffic and parking pressure of Dianjun district during the exhibition, citizens are encouraged to travel by public transportation.
