On March 1st, the Xiao’s Tea Group started picking the first batch of the spring tea for this year in the Sanxia Spring Tea Garden in Yiling District, launching a series of activities including the ceremony of garden opening, picking fresh tea, tasting the first brew of spring tea, and on-spot tea products vending which were livestreamed through several online platforms, bringing the audience into experiencing the process of picking, processing and tasting tea. Certain experts in tea industry were also present at the ceremony to award the plaque of “Yichang Maojian Spring Tea Base” to the garden. On the day of garden opening, the highest purchase price of fresh tea leaves is 300 yuan per kilo, and the average price is 240 yuan per kilo.
